Like a child

"One day children were brought to Jesus in the hope that he would lay hands on them and pray over them. The disciples shooed them off. But Jesus intervened: "Let the children alone, don't prevent them from coming to me. God's kingdom is made up of people like these."

We strive so hard to be like Jesus, but often we are like the disciples who shooed the children off. We strive so hard to live so that we may enter the Kingdom - but we make it more complicated then what it is. Jesus says that His Kingdom is made up of people like those little children that day, not of people like the disciples that day. So, we become like children. Sounds simple enough. We cry and scream at the top of lungs when something goes wrong. We complain when we can't have what we want. We are often feel small and overlooked. Being a child is easy. I'm thinking that this probably isn't what Jesus had in mind.

Last week I passed a child around 2 or 3 years old walking with a woman, as he went by he pointed at me and looked up at his adult friend and asked 'mama?'. The woman replied, 'no, that isn't your mommy, we are going to go see her now'. The boy put on a smile and walked away content again, knowing that he will soon see his mother. As adults, why do we fret so much when we feel so far away from our Heaven Father. When we feel alone, we become angry and we tell other people about how unfair life is. Why not become like that child and ask 'Daddy?' Why can't we be content, knowing that he is right there beside us and smile throughout life knowing that we will soon to reunited with him. The little boy had enough faith that day to know that he will soon see his mama...we need to become like that child. Increase your faith.
