Cityscape

Monday morning. It's not as great as shouting Happy Friday! That's okay though, God woke me up this morning for a reason so I might as well celebrate it. I was reminded this morning on my drive to work how much I take things for granted. For those of you who really know me, you know that I really dislike city living. If I could wake up in the morning and look outside and see trees and hills (mountains would be my dream come true, but I will settle for hills), and water - lots of water, then I would be quite content. When I look at the cityscape (sp?!) I find it really hard to appreciate it. It really doesn't do anything for me. But this morning, as I was driving up Memorial drive, I looked in my rearview mirror and got an amazing look at the city, with mountains standing in the background of course, and I thanked God for it. I couldn't believe that those words were coming from my mouth (just as I couldn't believe that I asked for tickets to see Star Wars last night!). I honestly thanked God for city life, for the picture of downtown Calgary that I saw in a new way this morning. Maybe it is because I am moving and it hit me how much I was really going to miss that drive to work in the mornings, I'm not sure what is happening to me!!
