I'm alive!

One week down and only 6 more to go with having the teens at the camp! Must of been one of my hardest weeks ever...but I survived. It's hard to know that you are in the right place when days get so difficult...God is funny that way I guess. We are now back at Jackson's Point for the day off...one that is very much needed. It's Thursday and I haven't showered since Sunday...I'm not sure why I just admitted that but it gives some idea as to how it's been! Our bus load of kids arrived 2 hours late on Friday and our final staff members arrived on Monday and one on Wednesday just in time to say good bye to the kids. One of the nghts on our outtrip it rainned pretty hard and we got a pretty sweet thunderstorm...except that Peter and I had to go out in the metal boat at midnight during the storm to rescue one of the female staff who was stranded at the male site. Then my tent kinda got flooded...and so did everyone elses. Wet kids and wet cloths in the middle of nowhere...good times!! One of the days was pretty hot out so I ended up with a pretty good tan..that is always good! I'm also still fighting with all of the mosquito's up here...my legs are all scarred from my constant scratching....they tell me that the flys will go away soon....at least that is something that gives me hope! Tommow is Friday and we get to do it all over again and I'm sure that next week I will have a lot more adventures to write about! We were supposed to get a line for internet up at Camp Newport but we havn't yet...still hoping though! Oh, and my camp name is Flanker...that is the word that I use to call sparks from a fire in Newfoundland. I still haven't gotten used to responding to it yet...people probably think that I am ignoring them! And I still call Peter Peter..it's hard to start calling him Seven! 6 more weeks!!! I will post more next week!

Good times in deed Amanda, good times lol! I hear you pain and I am glad I do not feel it. Except I have pain of another kind, I am up at 8:20am to help my cousin and I work until 9pm or 11pm. Between my 2 jobs, I have 5 days off in July, good times. Glad to hear that you are surviving, the flies, are you sure they go away...you better check into that one with someone who wont lie to you lol. Remember God has a reason for everything and when that reason seems clouded, always remember what doesnt kill you will only make you stronger.

Love Corrina

amanda, i know that camp (particularly madawaska) can be a huge adjustment. it's not always immediately obvious that it's wonderful :) but, believe me, it is for the kids. keep your eye on the ball and your trust in God, and you will see amazing things done this summer. much love your way!
