Enjoy the journey

As many of you know, I love to count down to things. I am forever crossing off days from one exciting event to the next. This weekend at church I was reminded to 'Enjoy the Journey'. Instead of rushing from one thing to the next and sitting in anticipation for something to happen, sit back and admire the blessings that can be experianced as you wait. The time of waiting can be a time of growing and learning. I was grateful for this reminder, although I will still continue to count down sleeps - it's just so much fun to do! But as I await the 27 sleeps until Christmas morning I will enjoy the gift shopping and wrapping, the Christmas parties and cookie baking, the letter writing and card mailing!! The events leading up to the actual event are sometimes just as much fun as the event itself!! So when you are sitting and waiting for God to answer your prayers, just know that you are meant to enjoy the waiting season as well!!
