My apologizes for not updating in a while. I guess it's time that I wrote about the passing of my grandma. On Thursday, Feb 2, at 5:00pm in Newfoundland, my grandma peacefully passed away. My mom was by her side and the rest of the family members where standing just outside of the hospital room. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon. As the oldest grandchild, they asked me to write a tribute that could be read out loud. My mom said that my tribute really helped lighten the mood of the funeral and it made people realize that they were there to celebrate her life. So that made me feel good. Apparently about 600 people went through the funeral home on Sunday and about the same number of people where at the church for the funeral. Mom said that she met family members that she didn't even know existed! I debated back and forth about going home but I stayed here and had the support of my husband. I just wanted to keep you all updated on the situation and thank you so much for all of your prayers and encouragement over the last few weeks!

Sorry to hear this news Amanda! My grandmother is going through Chemo for the 2nd time and is not doing too well so I can empathize with you. I love her very much and I am not sure if I will make it back to NFLD should her condition worsen. I will keep your family in my prayers.
Sorry to hear about your grandma - but now you know that she is somewher FAR better (i know that sounds cliched, but it's true)...I am glad that your mom was able to be there, as well. I am sure that meant a lot.
I'm sorry to hear about your loss amanda, yu're in my thoughts
