What a wonderful long weekend! Peter and I had a beautiful weekend away in British Columbia (Radium, Wasa Provincial Park, Whiteswan Provicial Park, Kimberly and tons of other places in between). The weather was perfect so we spent all day Saturday on the beach - tanning and playing frisbee in the lake. On Sunday we went to several hot springs - one was not developed like the one at Radium so it was pretty cool just to sit in the rocks that smelled like rotten eggs and soak in super hot, natural mineral water. That has always been one of the things I've wanted to do while living out here and we finally got to go do it! Even though it was just over the weekend it felt like a vacation to me. It was good to get out of the city for a while and to enjoy the summertime with my hubby!
Yesturday was also a super fun day. I had the day off to pick my friend up from the airport and we hung out for the day, catching up and dying my hair and then cutting it all off on the spur of the moment! We met duing my first year of college in Winnipeg and we have stayed in touch since then which is really cool. I was thinking about how some of my friends have become really distant but others of us have become closer. It's also strange how some of my friends have gotten to be friends with other friends of mine from different parts of my life (I know, that's pretty confusing!!) For example, a friend that I grew up with in my church back home in Newfoundland now lives here in Calgary and is friends with people who used to be my roommates and is friends with my husbands brother and his girlfriend; also, a friend who I went to college with is now here in Calgary and is roommates with my friend who used to go to my church and who used to date my husband; another friend of mine from college came to my wedding last year and has been in touch with a friend she met at my wedding and is now visiting with him this week. It's just so cool for me to see how everyone is getting to know each other and becoming friends. I like that.

Pictures please! (Of the new do)
Glad you found the hot springs. It is my favourite thing to do around here. I'm keeping a tally of all the ones I've been to.
Can't wait to see the new do! You're so spontaneous- it takes me forever to decide on a haircut! And it is great to make new friends through other friends- we're all connected!:)
