Good news....my Nan Goulding got out of the hospital today....she is recovering well from the stroke....God does answer our prayers!!
I just got back from 'Quench', which is a coffee house style worship time for youth. In the 45 mins that I could be there, my passion for worship was quite intense. It was lead by a group of 3 people from Booth College: one girl who sang, one guy on keyboard and one guy on drums....you could tell that they loved to worship, you could tell that they were doing it for the right reasons, you could tell that they practiced and you could tell that they were wanting people to get excited and get into worship with them. I miss that. I want to be able to worship like that again. They sang 'Beautiful One' and my heart wept for one of the young girls who used to attend our church....at camp her and I would sang that song with everything that we had...we would jump up and down and dance because the Holy Spirit was so real in our hearts. We even had plans to sing that song together during worship some Sunday at our church. Now she doesn't come to church any more. The passion for worship kinda dissapeared. Tonight I prayed that it would return...to her....and to all of us.

Sounds like you're not real happy at your church. Hopefully no one from your church reads your blog!

Amanda, although my first reaction to your comments was to feel a little hurt not just for myself, but for others that I care about, I choose instead to be glad that you are praying to rediscover your passion in worship. Although music is a big part of worship, I believe that worhip itself is the communication between us and God. God wants us to worship constantly!
I guess my question is this.. how can you tell that someone loves to worship?? how can you tell they are doing it for the right reasons?? I am pleased that you had a moving worship experience, because that is an amazing time with God!!! We all worship in our own personal ways, and we are all responsible to prepare for our worhip. I want you to know that I will pray for you and that Gods Spirit will touch you in many forms of worship including Music.

I'm not understanding what your problem is with South Meadows worship...if the youth want to worship in their own interesting kind of way then take them somewhere else.
I'm happy with attending South Meadows...i didn't mean to offend anyone or the worship there..and I don't want people encouraging me to go somewhere else over this issue...
Thank you Nadine for what you said..I really didn't mean to hurt you or those who you are close to...it wasn't directed at anyone in particular.
Whoa there anonymous, a church without youth is a church without a future. Think about it...
