It's been a wonderful Easter weekend so far...I've been enjoying the sunshine and my extra long weekend! Peter got up for work this morning and off course I couldnt' manage to sleep in (as usual!) so I'm up cleaning the house and just enjoying the quietness.
On Good Friday we went to church in the morning. It was a time of reflection and thinking about all that Jesus went through for us...the service was put together really well...I really appreciate how our pastors put services together...I quite admire that skill that they have. After the service we had fellowship with some close friends at Moxie's, I was going to order the fish as I was raised to have fish on Good Friday but I was a rebel and went for the Steak Sandwich! In the afternoon Peter and I went for a bike ride through fish creek park - I have a lot of work to do on my bicycling skills...I couldn't make it up very many of the hills!
On Saturday we spent most of the day preparing for our evening youth group. We had hoped for a lot of kids from other churches but God only had in mind to bring out our faithful 2 youth from South Meadows and their friends. I was humbled to have the opportunity to act as a servent and wash their feet before taking them through the Last Supper and then praying for them as they made the journey through the Stations of the Cross. I was inspired to watch them respond in different ways as they took nearly 2 hours to complete the journey of Christ.
Sunday was celebration day!! "God's not dead, He's still alive"!! Sunday morning was an amazing time of worshiping with all of the youth who used to be in our youth group last year!! It was great to see so many of them there as I hadn't seen many of them since our wedding. Even children from our kids klub last year came out and asked Peter and I if we could run an evening program for them as they miss it and are bored sitting around at home. Hopefully next year that is something that we will be able to do again. They even asked for applications for camp this summer, that was very encouraging!
We shared Easter dinner with our friends here in our home yesturday and afterwards Peter and I went to see "Benchwarmer"..it stars Napolean Dynamite so I highly recommend it....it had some really funny parts!
Anyhoo...I think that is enough updating for now...I pray that you had a wonderful Easter too!
