Sometimes this ArmyBarmy chick gets song book songs in her head and her true Salvationist background comes through.....this morning as I was driving to work I was belting out this song:

I stand amazed in the presence of Jesus the Nazarene,
and wonder how he could love me, a sinner, condemned, unclean.

How marvelous! How wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
How marvelous! How wonderful is my Savior's love for me!

For me it was in the garden he prayed:
"Not my will, but thine." He had no tears for his own griefs, but sweat-drops of blood for mine.

He took my sins and my sorrows, he made them his very own; he bore the burden to Calvary, and suffered and died alone.

When with the ransomed in glory his face I at last shall see,
'twill be my joy through the ages to sing of his love for me.

Not sure how I was able to remember the song but I'm sure it used to be a song we sung at Easter time back home. On Easter Sunday morning we used to have a sunrise service and then a march of witness and then the regular morning service, which was of course followed by the celebration evening service. Before the morning service my brothers and I would hunt the house for easter eggs left by the Easter Bunny and we would then open presents which would normally consist of a new toy (usually a skipping rope, chalk, bubbles or hola hoops!) and a new Spring outfit to wear to church! I remember getting Easter bonnets as a little girl and dressing up in the frilliest dress I owned!! Now that I'm married, it's cool to talk with my husband about different traditions and finding out how different families celebrate!

I love that song - I love playing it in the band!
I so miss all my Easter traditions...except for maybe the sailor dress every year!
Have a great weekend!
