It's so hard to believe that it's almost the end of July!! Summer's go by way too fast!! I was thinking about my list of things that I wanted to do this summer and I think that I have already accomplished quite a bit!.....
Wilderness Camp will be a huge success (June 30th to July 2)- Check! It was a fantastic weekend with the kids - I enjoyed it more than I thought that I would! Perhaps we will get to help with it again next year (did I actually just say that!)
Stampede Parade (July 7th)- Check! Got up at 5am to get the curb seats; the weather was beautiful and the parade was a lot of fun!
Stampede Rodeo- Check!! Yeehaw for Rodeos!! I've become a rodeo girl since moving to Calgary - I even own 2 cowbow hats!!
Stampede mini donuts!-Check!!! You bet I ate mini donuts...we bought (and ate) 25 of them!
Third Day Concert (July 16th)- Check!! Super awesome concert!!! it was quite moving when the leader of Third Day (Mac) did a little talk and they sang 'Cry out to Jesus'...I 'll post the words for you some time soon.
Get a wicked awesome tan - Partial check! I am not as tanned as I would liked to be....but I'm still working on it!
help Peter's family unpack into their new home here in Calgary! Check! Peter and I spent a few hours with the Robinsons last night helping them move into their new home. It's fun to have them around despite that it makes me miss my family even more! I like that I am able to get to know them a little better now, last night I spent some time helping Peter's sister unpack things in her room which was a lot of fun for me!
-spend time with friends from church - Partial check! We spent a day at the beach with our pastors and their children and we have plans to have a beach day with another family from church whenever they get some time off. Also, next Saturday is a big birthday party for some of the people at church so it will be great to get together there as well.
-celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary ! (August 27th) - only 28 more sleeps!!! Peter has a surprise planned so I can't wait to find out what it is!!!
-Phantom of the Opera (July 7th) - Check!! We had a lovely evening getting dressed up and having a fancy evening out - the opera was good too!
-register for a course for the fall- I have the information for it...it's still in the works!
watch the South Meadows South Meadowers Softball team win a game (they did it once but I missed it!) -Check!! I checked this off my list this week (despite my not wanting to be there!) I don't think there will be many more softball days in my future, but that is okay - I got to see one win!
-go camping at least twice (hopefully in the mountains - maybe in Yoho!) We have 2 weekends set aside for camping - this weekend coming up and one weekend in August. THis weekend we are going to Peter Lougheed Provincial Park and in August we are going to Drumheller. Perhaps I will get to go to Yoho some time in the fall (it's really a beautiful place with lots of beautiful waterfalls)
-tan on a beach somewhere (even if it is just at Lake Midnapore) Check!! I've spent many days at the beach at Lake Midnapore. Last Saturday we spent the afternoon there laying on the beach and playing frisbe in the water - we came home with a very bad burn (not quite the tan I was wanting!)
-attend weddings of some friends One wedding in August 13 and the other is Sept 2!
-hike Nope, haven't even thought about this one yet...perhaps we will go this weekend while we are camping!
-go biking once a week Well, we attempted a bike ride but Peter's bike ran into trouble and he had to walk his bike back home. That wasn't such a fun day but we survived!
-campfire at fish creek park - Hmmm, I had forgotten that I wanted to do this...maybe we will plan a campfire night with our family or something!
-go fishing out near Elbow Falls - Apparently you have to have a permit to fish...I didn't know this...Maybe we just go to Elbow Falls!
-talk my family into coming to Stampede 2007! I'm working on it!! My little brother is the easiest to talk into coming out here.. I think it is working!!

That is so cool that Peter's family is moving to Calgary. Do they just miss you guys so much that they can't handle it anymore? It will be so nice to have them around, especially when you decide to start your own family. That's one thing I miss more than anything right now - my family!
Summer is almost over, but I really want it to be anyway. Baby is due mid-September so I am really anxious to see what we are having.
Hugs,Tammy
I knew you were having a very busy summer but WOW, you have done a lot in a short amount of time! Thanks again for a great day at Stampede. We need to get together more!
