Life is good. God is even better! Every day I have so much stuff that I want to write on here and share with you all but it's been very busy - more busy than what I thought college would be...but it's still good. Most of you have probably heard that I haven't been feeling well, I'm not really sure what it was all about but I seem to be doing fine now. Winnipeg weather is making my head spin, but Calgary's weather did that to me as well.

I've been recently put into various leadership roles which is very new for me. I am leading and planning for a special Sunday in November when the head of the Salvation Army in Canada comes to our college (the TC and his wife for those of you who know the lingo!). I will be leading the worship team on that Sunday as well. I have always had a passion for singing and leading worship and now I finally get the opportunity to do it! It will help me with my confidence in that area that's for sure. I also have to lead and plan a chapel for Oct 12. Pray for me for that one because my chapel has to be about a particular song in the Salvation Army....not quite sure yet how I'm supposed to preach about a song!

Today we are going to Weston Corps....that is the church that I went to 8 years ago when I was in my first year at Booth College.....actually, one of the girls in my Worship Class used to be in my Kids Klub there!! I am looking forward to seeing some old faces!

After church today it's back to assignment writing and then Peter and I get to babysit this evening....our session mates get to go work at the Booth Center tonight so we are looking after their one year old girl...she is the cutest and sweetest thing! Last night during our observation at the Roman Catholic church, I had her in my arms and she was feeding my fruit loops! Too cute!

HOLY CRAP...our first year at Booth was 8 years ago?

Glad to hear that college is going well.

For not feeling well, it is the weather I would say...it is hard to stay well when one day you have a temperature of 20 and the next day 4....it's the only part of fall and spring I hate....hope you stay well.

Hi Amanda,

I read your blog with interest, and thought you might like to read an article called "The World for God" by Comm. Paul du Plessis published on www.salvationist.org about the song written by Evangeline Booth.
I'm a booth college alumnus (actually from cbbc, the really old days!)
Nice to 'meet' you!
Mary

Amanda, as for preaching about a song - check out the Companion for The Salvation Army Song Book. I would think the library has one. It gives history behind the song, etc.
