Please pray for my session mates - those people who are going to college with me here in Winnipeg as well as those who are studying around the world. People are getting stressed and are overwhelmed - pray for calmness and strength. Apparently the first few weeks here are always the hardest because you have to adjust to so many changes in life.

My personal goal for the next year is to remain positive despite any negativity that may come my way. I know that it is huge goal, but I believe that with God's help and with the help of my wonderful husbnd, I can be a positive light to others instead of getting caught up in any complaining or negativity that might occur. I find that when others are negative, then I normally end up feeling down and negative too, so I want to change that and try to keep looking up as much as possible! Help keep me accountable!

In one more week my family from Calgary are coming to visit us....I'm very excited to have them come for our Welcome Weekend and to share in this very important event with us. It will be cool to show off our new home, college and community to those we care about.

My cousin lives here in Winnipeg, attending Booth College and I am still trying to get used to having family live so near by....everytime I see her she almost surprises me because I don't expect to see family around! I am loving every moment of it!! She is someone who will be there to give me a break from our college community, someone who I can talk to whenever I need to and someone who will provide a hug just at the time when I need it the most!! It's such a great feeling to have her here! I'm so blessed in that way!

Our first week of classes are over, time for the weekend. We have residence girls night this evening. Tomorrow we have orientation games with the second year students and on Sunday we have morning chapel at the college, then a free meal at the Old Spagetti Factory down at the Forks with all of the college community and then an evening service.....a busy weekend before a busy week of preparing for Welcome Weekend....keep praying for us!!!
