Well friends...today is the last internet post from Ukraine...and probably the last until I return back to Winnipeg on Aug 29. Thanks for going on our adventure with us by reading all our reports and for praying for us during the summer. I will add some photos and a report about our vacation when we return to the beautiful land of Canada!

There is one last list to present to you.....enjoy!

1. When the temperature stays above 40 strange things happen like freezer doors jumping off the fridge.
2. There is nothing strange about 30 or more grown men gathering around the statue of a poet and drinking beer and singing songs.
3. When in a grocery store and the security roll gate is closed do not panic because there is a secret back entrance. Just follow the old lady who will guess your weight for $1.
4. The Brinks truck has nothing on the six vehicle lights and sirens convoy that brings money to the banks here. Two SUVS, two cars, one semi full of money, and of course a sprinter. All with lights and sirens going, making traffic get out of the way. Very subtle people. No one will know what you are doing.
5. Matches here are comparable with small fireworks in Canada. Be careful your eyebrows don't get singed when you light the torch the call matches.
6. Placemats here could be sold in Canada as crazy carpets. No chance of spilling on these tables.
7. We have introduced the Frisbee to the country of Ukraine. It is very entertaining to watch people try to throw them like a baseball.
8. Not sure if it is connected with the fact that I am wearing a Tilley or nor but a strangely large number of people seem to approach me to take their picture. All of which are taken with cell phones.
9. Chocolate Bars sold on a table in the 40 degree sun should really be advertised as soup so as not to deceive anyone. There is no bar in that wrapper!
10. There seems to be an inexplicable absence of any wildlife other than pigeons and sparrows (if you don't count the dogs and cats). Thing ssuch as squirrels are nowhere to be seen!

I've been following your account of your Ukraine ministry with interest. I felt called as a young single girl to serve God in the SA in Russia, years before the country re-opened to the SA. To cut a long story short, I got married instead, & we served as Officers for a few years - commissioned in 1980, UK. God bless you as you return to College & continue your work for Him.
