This morning as I was driving to work, I received a 'word', that's the best way that I can describe it and I want to share it with you in the best way that I can.....
Sometimes life (well, God actually) brings you to a fork in the road. Sometimes at that fork you stop. You know what way is the right way but you aren't ready to journey on that road yet. You stop. And as you stop, you become comfortable. Up to this point God has never stopped blessing you, you have been given everything you need to continue on the journey but life is just so good right now that you don't want to move away from it. Perhaps you are scared that stepping unto this new road will cause you to lose everything you have gained up to this point, but what you fail to realize is that everything you have been gaining has only been preparing you and that it will actually go with you on the journey. You aren't going to lose everything, you are actually going to gain bigger and better things - life is just going to keep on blessing you, but you are so comfortable just parked at the stop sign that you are unable to see that. At the stop sign you have marriage, friendship, family, financial stability, love, health - what more could you need?!! However, at that fork, the comfortable world that you have come to love, slowly becomes too comfortable and you begin to settle in and slowly God begins to slip. Because God is such a God of choice and freedom, He lets you slip for a while and enjoy the happy life but then He starts to remind you that you are still parked at the fork. He shows you glimpses of the road ahead and He is excited to start you on it. At first you turn away. You have been seeing these glimpses for about 10 years but it's scary. It's unknown. Once, about a year ago, you stepped out in faith but the water beneath your feet didn't hold you. Perhaps you weren't ready. Perhaps the road wasn't yet finalized for the journey. Or perhaps you took the wrong turn at the fork. Whatever it was, you were driven back to that stop sign and parked again. Fear paralized you. But now, now is the time. If you stay parked, the comfortable life will start to become boring. It's time for an adventure. God is beneath you and around you and in front of you, ready to remove the stop sign and is allowing you to journey on. You won't leave anything behind - it's all coming with you. You are equipped and brave, rise up, and be paralyzed no longer. An adventure awaits - and so you go.
